Made a turkey and egg sandwich with chive cream cheese. Me and Seth went to the nearby Taqueria to get some lunch. Grandma got back home today from her brother-in-law's place up in Washington; drove her to get some groceries from Hashi Market. I spent most of the day bouncing between Claude, photography videos, and my Dendron vault on VS Code. Played a little bit of Tomodachi Life at breakfast and then later after dinner. Still a cute game, though the transitions could be a bit faster.
Been trying to relax this past week but there's a few things that keep nagging me — gay yearning (actually not that stimulated by partially watching Red White & Royal Blue, the movie is a bit thin for my taste; it's more just realizing this is a part of my identity I cannot ignore), buying a $500 (yeouch) lens, not feeling like I can get to Soteriology of the Coherent 3.0 or Helios, realizing I haven't taken photos of anyone this past quarter, computer use has been a little unfocused these past couple of days. My sleep schedule has been moving later and later and I'm trying to get it back on track if only to also wake up earlier. Though I seem to be sleeping much better on a firm, stable bed and with thicker walls here at home. Read rieunn's "anywhere you want to go" again.
Other highlights this break — I'm nearly finished annotating Frawley's Vygotsky and Cognitive Science, I got a haircut, I'm still eager to work on and theorize about SotC 3.0, and I fell back in love with my FD 24mm f/1.4 I got from Uncle Thai a year and a half ago (edge haze didn't affect image quality as much as I thought it would, and it's still quite sharp in the plane of focus). I'm really thinking of rebalancing my priorities next quarter to spend time with people I've met at UCSC and try to meet new people, and of course meet with professors. And I'm still very honored and privileged to continue helping at the CaT Lab, theory or no theory.
