Since I went to bed very late, I deliberately slept in and went to Psycholing late. Told Emily about my late assignment, she said since I emailed her in advance and this was the only time so far there would be no penalty. Sweet Emily! Headed to Baskin and waited for next lecture to start. Felt weirdly frustrated and bored for some reason. But I did ask Prof. Seymour if there was a relation between reconstructive visual memory and episodic simulation and he said yes and more. What's more interesting is how individuals can take a 2D image of a 3D object and seem to manipulate it in their heads, the time to do shape rotation scaling linearly with rotations/operations needed. Headed to SS2 to try and get some work on the lab done but I still couldn't access the server's files for some reason. I took the brief stint to get acquainted to the computer, a 2017 iMac 27 inch, and the combined lab room. Not a lot of equipment; more interview stuff, but still cozy. Went to SS1 and hunkered down at the very quiet Ethnographic Library and then went to Perception lecture. On the way to Perception, Alex came up!! Naturally we had to talk and catch up. Alex is doing a teaching(?) abroad program for a year and is generally looking forward to finally completing his credits and degree. Some work to be done at his hometown Auburn as well. And he's seeing someone new! Nice!!! I say that honestly. I'm still not ready. All the more joy and ease to him. Was too lazy to make rice so I swung by Yan Flower, paid $1.40 too much for 30 minutes of street parking (turns out Yan Flower had complimentary parking, big sign and all), bought a veggie combo plate with chow mein and fried rice, and headed home. And you know, not bad. I normally don't eat so much carbs but there were a good amount of veggies and tofu and the dishes weren't salty at all. (They even make a pointed comment on their menu that they don't use MSG!) I didn't have to worry about protein because I was planning to fry up my two soy sauce/ginger marinaded chicken thighs. These came out yummy as well, though one small part of the first thigh looked a little undercooked, which I promptly threw away. I ate half the plate and saved the next for tomorrow.
