Woke up with a sore throat and took a trip to the local grocery store to get some honey, zinc lozenges, and meal prep boxes and Ziploc bags. It came out to $30. No, that is not a typo. Apparently the zinc lozenges were the most expensive piece, coming in around $12. 100 pieces. Seems like a good value but they're not like candy lozenges at all and they crumble. So I wound up eating like 7 of them today. Though, I did use the honey for a couple big bottles of lemon/cinnamon/ginger herbal tea. That was a good afternoon.

Holy fuck this sore throat has skeeved me so bad I forgot I actually got my main highlight. I got a Lodge carbon steel pan this morning! I'd been eyeing it on Amazon for a couple weeks now and thought what the hell, it's only $40 for the 10 inch, and there weren't any holiday sales last year anyway (thanks camelcamelcamel). The pan is definitely rough. Like, rough enough to tear up paper towels if you press too hard. I THINK it's gotten slightly smoother near the center after my spinach omelette this morning and my two pieces of lemon marinaded chicken and cabbage stir fry for dinner (yes, I did stovetop seasoning too). It's just the black color that throws me off. It's hard to tell when the bits and fond are OK or burnt to coal. After that cabbage stirfry there was pleeeeenty of carbon from burned garlic. Please! I haven't burned garlic in like a week and a half. I guess I just have to get used to it... and pick up some chainmail.
