First day of school. Woke up very early around 6:05, spent a few minutes in bed then got ready. Skipped breakfast and headed out ASAP. The drive to campus was ... fine. Speedy for my slight sleepiness but fine. Parked at East Remote, waited for the bus for a few minutes, and decided to walk to College Nine for class. I thought it would take 45 minutes. Google Maps said 25. It actually took 17. This might be a fluke though. First day excitement and all. Headed in, sat down next to Hailee and Shruti, said hi, caught up a little bit. Psycholinguistics from 8:00 to 9:35. Headed out with Shruti and we split ways soon. I headed down to McHenry for a snack and a coffee. BLT avocado toast and a very hot (I had to add some of my water) medium Americano came out to like $11.54, even with the 10% discount. And I was STILL hungry by 3! Well, my fault. I could've made a couple ham and cabbage sandwiches this morning or something. Had Memory class around 11:40 at Jack Baskin, which was a bit more strenuous than the walk from East Remote to College Nine. But I made it and, again, sooner than I thought. Sat down and just a couple seats away was Mason. I followed him recently on Instagram and liked his snapshots but was too chicken in the moment to ask if, you know, it was actually him. Class went by fine, Prof. Seymour is very Gen X (like 5 mentions of Andor or something) and then I had 4 hours to kill. I suddenly had this very strong urge to visit someone but I didn't know who. Its surreal to me now that Alex was only a 25 minute walk away. (That is, if he actually wants to invite me up or even approach me as a friend anymore. I don't think I did anything wrong, since I'm not in control of his feelings, but it does eat at me I can't yet reciprocate and get into a whole relationship.) I walked back to College Nine and hunkered down in the Ethnographic Library for what felt like forever on my computer and reading the school newspaper and satire newspaper. Perception class at 5:20 was also fine but I got a little hungry still. Headed home right after and dug into the leftover porridge from last night. So good. Had some baby carrots, a nice tart peach, and four Trader Joe's fruity jellies for dessert. Asked Dad about Donna's rental discount.
