Slept in until 9:15, had a turkey lettuce avocado sandwich for breakfast with a couple of snacks, made coffee, worked on SotC 3.0 a little bit and watched some YouTube. Canni picked me up around 4:15pm and took us to San Jose's Maker market in Sunnyvale, and we did like three laps looking at all the stands and buying what we really wanted. I got a pale blue ceramic mug with a thumb divot and a ram Smiski keychain (I don't actually have a Smiski but it looked cute enough). Got back home around 8:15 just in time for mom's pepper-garlic-marinated ribs and my uncles serving a crawfish boil. Remembered the SBURB Glitch FAQs worldbuilding and spooked myself with the horror. In the "replay value AU" (itself a set of roleplays born from the Glitch FAQ; GGTG didn't intend to set up any roleplaying), SBURB recycles "doomed" non-SBURB universes into further-propagating SBURB universes. The cost is horrible, though. SBURB players have to deal with tons of glitches and deaths, and even when they do everything right, the credits page glitches out and they can't access their new universe. They're forced to replay SBURB in a new session, taking the place of a dead and/or MIA player, with new people they've never met. Textually, the guide's metagame chapters are gems. The vaguely academic tone with references to internal theory is funny as hell. But it does unsettle me and make me realize I am still afraid of not growing up.
