Felt decently energized waking up 7:45 today, used my phone for a few minutes, got ready with the first shower in the house. Intrepid observations show a house well-loved, for better or for worse; and with dated furnishings and design.
Breakfast was very late. I had to go to Nob Hill to get groceries for breakfast and dinner, which somehow totaled to over $85. Drove back ASAP since I was getting pretty hungry and made some oatmeal. Topped it off with Greek yogurt, some cashews, and blueberries; it would have been as tart as you imagine it were it not for a bit of apricot jam in the fridge. Donna said I was free to have some, mentioning something about throwing out too much food. Frankly I should've taken the chance then to readdress the area and see what supplies and ingredients they had exactly but I didn't even know where the knives or the salt was at that point. Had some coffee later, probably could've brewed it stronger.
The majority of the afternoon and early evening was spent at the Scotts Valley library, the nearby Target, and the Felton library. Mostly read a Ramon y Cajal book and wrote a bit more of SotC 3.0 in each library accordingly. At Target I got some Pepto-Bismol (just in case), a towel, a couple composition notebooks. I was actually looking for a dehumidifier but all they had were air purifiers over $120. Um, okay.

I did get to know the kitchen much more though and, sad as it is to note, the place is quite messy for how small it is. I do miss the orderliness of my (mom's) kitchen back home. At least if I took an hour to prep back home I would know where the utensils were. Texting mom really made me feel less lonely though and made me more confident. And soon enough I threw the veggies in and a couple chicken thighs and let it rip. It turned out ... fine. The potatoes actually thickened the soup nicely but, per usual, I undersalted...
