A haze, a muck, a surprise at the end. Woke up early-ish around 8:30, had some potstickers for breakfast (mom was already making some for dad), pressed out my cold brew from last night and topped it off with some milk (super strong, super smooth — major throwback to 2023). Worked on SotC 3.0 for an hour, packed for an hour (albeit with major distractions, delayed making iced oolong tea on account of my nap, but I did nail it down with some lunch (leftover rice, ginger chicken, Korean perilla) and an episode of the Dick Van Dyke Show. Warmed up our rice, mom made a few shallot/scallion egg fritters(?), me and dad dug in.
Luck would have it Alex was able to come by, albeit very late, around 9:30. Seth drove us to Teaspoon since my car was stuck in the driveway. Headed back home. Talked with him for about an hour and fifteen minutes about the summer and the start of the next school year, recapped my UCSC friend circle and my one-sided exit from the Hitchcock Lounge group. A few awkward pauses here and there, mostly from me scrambling to think up new topics, what's new? Word from the man himself, he had a "staring problem" reasoned as "really [liking my] smile".
Oy, that man. Scruff and glasses and smooth skin and three or four inches of height on me — gave him some snacks and water on the road — a couple of tight hugs just before he went — awkward goodbye and finally, finally nailing the colossal elephant in the room, telling him it'd be a while to be ready for a relationship, he understands, it's always nice seeing you — my god! </3 — and a brief return to pick up the backpack he left in my house. Turns out his Acura is a liftback, which explains how he was able to get so much into it. — God, I need him. I need to explore him, mind and body. Is that too much to say in a journal entry? It's the truth.
