Mmm. Best bowl of oatmeal I've made in a long time. Jelly-like under the surface, and the puffed oats are delicate and light. Trying to think what I did exactly... added a little extra oats, same amount of water, brought the entire thing from cold to full boil, added another ounce or so of water to thin it out, boiled again, and added a few chunks of leftover chicken, simmered to current consistency (which was a little thinner, but I suddenly remembered in a different way it would thicken).
