"[Growing up] is hard and nobody understands." // https://www.homestuck.com/story/2391

April 5th 2025. Woke up a bit late. Had a big breakfast at Rachel Carson and started reading the Soviet photography book before spooking myself into thinking I had an online call from 11am to 12 (that would be tomorrow, Sunday). Spent the afternoon working on my reading response for Comms Tech course, and then took the bus downtown and walked to the Holy Trinity of Divine Church. I had had mushrooms on my mind off and on this past week, but I was still too blah about the experience to really want another trip. Instead, with my notebook and water bottle in my backpack, I entered their reception area and talked with the young man (who was the same one from last time, and whom I now know as Bobby) about best practices for a better trip. I took plenty of notes and learned a lot about different doses, set and setting, and how to stay calm even when things are going sideways. I also noticed as a business they were doing quite well. In the hour and a half I was there, 8 or 9 customers came in and ordered at least $50 of goods each. Highest was $200, I think. Of course, there could be other costs involved in cultivation, but they seem to at least be turning a profit. Near the end an older man, Bart, came out and I chatted with him briefly about the protest that day and school. I headed out and waited by the nearby bus stop for what felt like forever (okay, I was standing) and headed up back to campus and my dorm. I had dinner soon after.
