Yesterday, March 22nd 2025: Leftover pasta for breakfast, dropped off my redundant Amazon items (camera strap and M4/3 adapter) to Staples, did some photo editing, slightly struggled with white balance and skin tones (but it worked out in the end).
Today, March 23rd 2025: Sunday breakfast at Fremont's cozy Paris Baguette location with some Starbucks -- Seth drove us (him, me, our parents) in mom's RAV4. I planned to make some coffee at home on my Hario Switch so I just got a small honey citrus mint tea. Got a turkey mozzarella sandwich with a coffee bun from PB and talked with parents a little about the family, investing, and off-campus hunting for next school year. Took a ton of photos of morning breakfast and the flowers of the front yard on my GF2 with the FD 50mm f/1.4. I will always marvel at how sharp and beautiful this 50/1.4 is, even if composition is occasionally challenging. I actually tried my Industar 50-2 (a 50/3.5) again later that afternoon and did not like the photos coming off of it. And my 28/2.8 felt a touch too slow indoors. Walked with Seth in the late afternoon to the nearby taqueria, and I got a few photos in as well. Spent most of the day working on my GF2 review, editing breakfast/front yard photos, and watching photography videos from Ali from One Month Two Cameras, James from Snappiness (mixed feelings on his content:b-roll ratio), and Nigel from Zenography. Near the end of the day I caved into hype and watched the first couple episodes of Severance Season 2 which I adored as much as I did Season 1. Really really hopeful for the rest of the season. Checked a little bit of career resources on UCSC's page and partially filled out Prof. Boudewyn's cogneuro lab form. Near the very end of the day I made some selects for my photos of people in January and February and uploaded them to my Instagram. These portraits are genuinely stunning — I've got to upload more to Instagram. (Not sure I should reveal my gov name, but then again, I've already posted a picture of myself...)
