"[Growing up] is hard and nobody understands." // https://www.homestuck.com/story/2391

We arrived at the lighthouse and checked out the nearby rocks and waves, and took a few photos. We headed down the pier-ish bit and walked into the residential area, and then saw some more boats in the dock. We headed back to the beach and talked about books she's been reading. She's been on a memoir and ethnography and nonfiction kick, it seemed; and I learned she didn't like science fiction that much (or, at least, it was hard to get right with her). I said I hadn't been reading much lately and that most of my free time was spent learning more about photography and editing my photos; still, I wrote down all her recommendations, anticipating I would wind up reading at least one by the end of the school year. Something to look forward to, I suppose. We got back to her car and picked up Mindy and Mindy's friends from the boardwalk. We swung by Marianne's ice cream later — I got a lemon sorbet, no dairy, a bit less sour than I thought (I think the tart froyo was more sour), but very very creamy -- and Julie dropped me back off at Porter. I thanked her for the outing, wished her well travels, and then for myself got to work packing for my own return home.
