Daylight savings hit like a truck. Woke up around 6:45 or 7:15 and lamped in bed until 7:45. Got ready soon enough. Was out of the dorm around 9:15 and got into downtown around 9:45. Asked Seth if he wanted to grab a bite from Zoccolis but he didn't reply (... for the rest of the day). Got a chicken parm sandwich from them, $12.02, I only had $13 but gave up the change to them. Ate it outside, nice and cool, and then checked out Verve Coffee Roasters. Oddly big place -- didn't feel too cozy, especially after the manager (in good faith, I have to imagine) told me I needed permission from employees to take photos of them. Truthfully my social anxiety extends to taking pictures of people as well. I explained/tried to make the excuse I was photographing the espresso machines, apologized profusely, took my coffee, and sat outside to try to not beat myself up over this social blunder. Oh well. Maybe next time. I didn't have much to see or do in downtown so I decided to walk along San Lorenzo River and see where it went. It goes right to the boardwalk and pier, conveniently, so I spent a couple hours walking there and taking plenty of photos. I walked back to the lot I parked at, and headed back to campus. Spent a good chunk of time working on Helios, and an event longer chunk of time pruning and continuing some Ladon and Orange branches in the original working doc. I feel like I have enough material for a "B side"... already an interesting writing idea.
